The short version
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name or email address to run a test.
- Your test history is stored only in your own browser. We never receive a copy.
- The data sent during a test is random bytes generated on the spot. It carries nothing about you.
- The site is funded by advertising from Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your interests where you allow it.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we use no analytics or tracking tools of our own.
1. Who we are
This website, pingtoly.site (the “site”), is operated by Regulad Co., Ltd. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, except where Google acts as an independent controller for its own advertising processing, as explained in section 5.

2. What happens when you run a test
A speed test measures the connection between your browser and our server. To do that:
- Latency: your browser sends a series of small requests to our server and times the replies.
- Download: our server sends your browser a stream of random, meaningless data, and your browser counts how much arrives.
- Upload: your browser sends random data it generated back to our server, which counts the bytes and discards them.
- Connection details: our server reads your public IP address from the request and sends it back to your browser so it can be shown on screen next to the result.
The test results themselves (download and upload speed, ping, jitter, time of the test, the test server and your IP address as shown on screen) are calculated in your browser. We do not store your results on our server.
3. Information stored in your browser
Your browser keeps your last 60 results in its local storage, under the key speedtest.results.v1, so you can review them on the My results page. This history never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browsing data for this site.
4. Information our servers receive
Like every website, ours cannot be delivered without some technical information passing between your device and our servers. When you load a page or run a test, our hosting infrastructure processes your IP address, browser and device information (the user-agent string and language), the address of the page or test endpoint requested, the date and time, and the referring page.
We use this information only to deliver the site, run the test, keep the service secure, prevent abuse (for example, automated load against our test servers) and diagnose faults. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not combine it with other data.
5. Advertising and cookies
The site is free because it shows ads. Ads are provided by Google through its advertising services (Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager).
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers, to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site.
Learn more about how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:
- Google ads: My Ad Center
- Other participating vendors in the US: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org
- In Europe: youronlinechoices.eu
Opting out does not remove ads. It means the ads you see are no longer based on your interests. The full list of cookies, what they do and how long they last is in our Cookie Policy.
Ad scripts are kept outside the measurement path and do not affect your test result.
6. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform, integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used or ads are personalised. If you do not consent, you may see non-personalised or limited ads. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Privacy settings link at the bottom of every page.
Our legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR are:
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for delivering the site, running the test, security, abuse prevention and fault diagnosis.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for advertising cookies and personalised ads, and for any other non-essential storage on your device.
- Legitimate interests for replying to messages you send us.
7. How long we keep information
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Server and security logs (IP address, user agent, request, time) | Up to 30 days, then deleted |
| Your test history in your browser’s local storage | On your device until you clear it; we never hold a copy |
| Advertising cookies set by Google | See the Cookie Policy; governed by Google’s retention periods |
| Emails you send us, and our replies | 12 months after the conversation ends |
8. Who receives information
- Google LLC and its affiliates, for serving and measuring ads, as described in section 5.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers the site and the test use.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our service, our users or the public from abuse or harm.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable form, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority.
California and other US states. You may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Where Google’s personalised advertising may count as “sharing” under these laws, you can opt out using the links in section 5, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser as a valid opt-out. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email support@regulad.com. We respond within 30 days (45 days where a US state law allows it). Because we have no accounts and keep no test results, we may be unable to link any information to you; if so, we will tell you.
10. Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Our hosting and advertising providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where information leaves the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, it is protected by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
12. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access to our servers and advertising accounts is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the information we hold to a minimum.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
14. Contact
